About Us
Association for Engineering in Science and Technology was formed in 2023 with a group of engineering students in Africa as founders. The aim of the organization is to solve problems in Africa such as high rate of unemployment amongst graduate students, poverty due to low income streams and pollution caused by mobile batteries scrap using engineering solutions. The company extracts valuable metals from mobile batteries scrap using recycling equipment..

The vision of the company is to extract the valuable metals from mobile batteries scrap. The current method of extracting valuable metals used for manufacturing lithium-ion batteries involves mining the ores, concentrating the ores and purifying the ores. The methods of extracting the ores uses heavy equipment such as bulldozers, diggers, heavy trucks etc. Nevertheless, underground mining the ores also uses explosives which is prone risk causing collapse of various mines if not implemented properly. Our proposed mining method of valuable metals does not use explosives, heavy equipment thus maximizing the safety of workers at the plant. Vast amount of valuable metals occurs in mobile batteries scrap, which can be extracted and used to manufacture lithium-ion batteries thus conserving the environment sustainably. The proposed project is anticipated to expand to all countries in Africa in a period of eight years using the Fibonacci series

Overview of mobile batteries scrap in society.
Statistically, an average of 700 metric tonnes occurs in mobile electronic devices in each country in Africa. Nevertheless, realistically, 100% of mobile batteries scrap cannot be collected. The proposed recycling plant uses solar energy which uses the sun which appears in the sky with high intensity at an average of 5 hours per day and 300 days per year. The proposed recycling plant thus processes 1 metric tonne per day requiring 43% of the available mobile batteries scrap..
